The average gas and electric hot water boilers are designed to run, and last, for between 10 to 15 years with proper maintenance, but needs replacing within 6 years based on use and brand.

Boilers are the secret, silently working heroes of our homes. They supply us with our heating and hot water which we often take for granted. We don't necessarily notice them when they are doing their daily work out well, but we definitely notice when they breakdown.
